The importance of communication skills

                                        The importance of communication skills💬

12 March 2022

Hello, welcome back to my blog again, I am glad to see you guys this week we discuss communication skills in different three ways, words, tone, and body language which could let us find out how others feel and their attitude.

Nowadays, it is much more convenient in using technology as there are lots of social media for us to contact my friends through like Insta, Facebook and Messengers so that the face to face interaction becomes worse. It is essential for us to know how vital it is that we communicate to others face to face since in my point of view, communicating through a phone makes us lose the way to understand others' feelings cause we don't know their feelings and their voice.

Words, we can communicate in verbal. For me, it is the strongest way to communicate with others. I read an article online it defines verbal communication as the use of language to transfer information by speaking. We can change our language if we change our tones, such as when we are having a project or something important we can speak in a strong tone but when we are talking with my friends and family you can become softer. Also, communication is not only speaking and also including listening and hearing about others. Good listening skill is an essential part of communication, at home my dad always play the role of listening to our struggles and sadness in life and it lets us feel so good so we enjoy talking to him as we can release our burden after talking.  Moreover, I see a funny point in verbal skills in the article, we should avoid using filter words like"umm, like, so and yeah as it may distract your listener as they will think you are not that serious and firm so we should present ourselves in a confident and firm way.

Body language, it is a way we can express our feelings and reactions while we talk or listen to others by our facial expressions. When we feel no interest in a topic we will put on a poker face or a fake smile. when we are mad or angry we will display closed body language like crossed arms. If we are in a good mood we will display open body language like smiling and clapping. It can also help us to build our self-awareness skills as we can notice our change when we are indifferent emotions our physical actions or reactions will change.  Also, body language can help us support our talk sometimes too like you will have some hands gesture to help you to feel more confident. I found out that my little brother has a biting lips habit when he gets mad as he thinks it will help him to control his anger. It is a really good way to notice others' emotions through their body language it helps us prevent saying something wrong.

Writing or typing words, is the communication through wordings or typing texts. It is a good way to record our memories together and I think it is a good way for those people who are shy to express themselves to share their opinions or words. Since I am that type of person too as I am always shy I don't like talking in front of a bunch of people so I prefer using typing words to express my feeling. However, there is some problem if we only communicate through typing as we could not see other's faces and tones, we cannot know what they really think and their tone while responding.

There are so many ways to express our own opinion so that we could choose what to use while facing different situations and positions.  If we really want to communicate with someone, no matter which way we can still let him know our heart.
